I apologize for my absence the past week. We had a sudden death in the family, and are just getting back into the swing of things. Please keep our family in your thoughts!
And now…my nails.
Oh, they’ve been a disaster. I did something on Monday…and I just hated it. It was so bad I didn’t even want to share. In fact, I hated it so much I decided I NEEDED NEW NAIL POLISH. And I went out of my comfort zone. I usually stick with Sally Hansen, Wet n Wild, or some other brand because I just do not like paying too much. These Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy polishes have been calling my name since I moved back to the states just about three months ago. I’m positive I’m late to the game on these, but where I lived we didn’t have access to these kinds of things! Everything is “new” to me!
I had some Extra Bucks rewards, and a coupon, AND a BOGO 50% off, I paid a mere $2.50 per bottle as opposed to the sticker price of $8.99. I purchased two of the Moon Candy Polishes, “Galactic” and “Satellite.” I admit I was drawn immediately to the glitters. They’re double ended polishes, which makes for an interesting polish application. I thought about removing both ends from their respective polish, but I didn’t want it all over my hands. “Galactic” is a beautiful deep blue polish with jagged blue/greencombo flake glitters. “Satellite” is a maroon/wine colored polish with gold/green flake glitters.
So first things first, the base coat. I loved both. The bottle gives directions to apply two coats, I only applied one. It’s a great formula, and stands up on it’s own without the glitter flakes.
The flakes are awesome when finished, but kind of a pain to put on. They won’t go on even, and you’ll have to fiddle with the brush to get the glitters where you want them to go. Be careful too! The flakes are NOT dainty!! It reminds me of broken glass. They’re all different shapes, pointy, and thick. The flakes do not smooth out with a clear top coat! I’m speaking a lot of negative here, but I really do like the glitter flakes. I can’t stop looking at them from different angles. Specifically “Galactic.” Every angle is a different color. And about the color of the glitters…do not be fooled like I was. There’s barely any tint. If you don’t have anything like it, I’d say jump on it especially if you get a great sale.
I certainly wouldn’t pay sticker price for the full collection, but there were a couple I was considering. If you get a great deal like I did, definitely check ’em out!
Stay Beautiful!!
